In industrial applications, spiral wound heat exchangers can be categorized as conventional process, cryogenic, and high-temperature and high-pressure types. Conventional process types are used for general heat exchange needs, such as hot water or low-pressure steam systems. Cryogenic types are designed for ultra-low-temperature media such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) or liquid nitrogen, utilizing specialized insulation and cryogenic materials.
